A shocking series of murders has left the Shadabad Mandal area of Ranga Reddy district in Telangana in a state of terror. A 28-year-old man, who was previously accused in a POCSO case, allegedly went on a killing spree, claiming the lives of 6 people. The victims of this brutal attack included his own wife, his two minor children, the 17-year-old girl who had filed the case against him, as well as the victim's mother and grandmother.
Targeting his family and the victim's household
According to preliminary police reports, the tragedy unfolded on the night between Friday and Saturday. The accused, identified as Rajkumar, first attacked his 30-year-old wife Parvati and his two children, 3-year-old Parikshit and 2-year-old Daivikshit, at their home, killing them with a knife. Following this, he proceeded to the home of the 17-year-old POCSO victim, where he killed her 45-year-old mother and 65-year-old grandmother.
Final assault on the victim
Initial investigations revealed that after killing five individuals, the accused took the 17-year-old minor victim to a pond on the outskirts of the village. There, he sexually assaulted her before murdering her as well. The sequence of events points to a calculated and vengeful act driven by the legal case against him.
Committing the crime after bail
Reports from law enforcement suggest that the accused had previously been booked for the sexual assault of the same minor. It is suspected that he carried out these murders shortly after being released on bail in the POCSO case. The police are now investigating the incident thoroughly, focusing on whether the ongoing legal case was the primary motivation behind the massacre.
Confession to family
Police sources indicate that after carrying out the killings, the accused made a phone call to his own family members. He confessed to murdering six people and informed them that he intended to commit suicide. Since that communication, however, the accused has vanished, and his current whereabouts remain unknown.
Investigation and legal proceedings
Upon being alerted, police arrived at the scene with high-security deployment and took the bodies into custody. The deceased have been sent to government hospitals for post-mortem examinations. Authorities are using dog squads and forensic teams to collect evidence. Cases related to murder and sexual assault have been registered. The POCSO Act, which stands for the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, was enacted in 2012 to provide a stringent legal framework to protect minors from sexual abuse and exploitation.
