According to local folklore and traditional accounts, a large quantity of musk was embedded into the foundation during its construction to ensure the building continuously emitted a distinct fragrance, which ultimately gave the landmark its enduring name.
A Prime Example of Deccani Architecture
Mushk Mahal represents an exceptional specimen of traditional Deccani architecture. The two-story structure features grand arches, intricate stone carvings, elegant projecting eaves, and open balconies.
