Railway authorities have ramped up preparations to facilitate passenger movement ahead of the upcoming festival season, when regular long-distance trains witness intense passenger demand. With reserved berths on routine routes already exhausted for Diwali and Chhath Puja, North Central Railway has arranged a dedicated daily festival service linking Delhi's Anand Vihar terminal with Bhagalpur in Bihar, providing much-needed travel options for commuters heading home.
Twenty-Coach Rake Structure Across Travel Classes
The festival special will run with a complete composition of 20 coaches tailored to accommodate varying traveler needs. General passengers will have access to 6 unreserved coaches, while sleeper class will feature 9 compartments for overnight comfort. For air-conditioned travel, the rake includes 2 third-class AC coaches and 1 second-class AC coach, complemented by 2 seating-cum-luggage rake (SLR) units.
Detailed Route Network and En Route Halts
Operating daily over the festive period, the service is slated to log 47 trips in each direction. The primary trunk route traverses key interchange nodes including Govindpuri (Kanpur), Subedarganj (Prayagraj), Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction, Sasaram, Gaya, and Kiul. Along the way, scheduled stoppages in both directions will cover Chipiyana Buzurg, Aligarh, Tundla, New West Cabin, Bhabhua Road, Dehri On Sone, Anugraha Narayan Road, Tilaiya, Nawada, Warisali Ganj, Sheikhpura, Abhaipur, Jamalpur, and Sultanganj.
Departure Timings and Operating Schedule
Train number 04062, running from Anand Vihar to Bhagalpur, will operate from October 10 through November 25, pulling out of Anand Vihar daily at 12.00 hours and terminating at Bhagalpur at 13.30 hours the following afternoon. In the return direction, train number 04061 will depart Bhagalpur daily from October 11 to November 26 at 16.30 hours, concluding its run at Anand Vihar at 20.00 hours the subsequent night.
