According to local accounts, civic administration personnel attempted to shift the idol on three separate occasions over the past week using specialized equipment. Despite these technical measures, the idol did not budge from its spot. An inspection team from the Archaeology Department also examined the site but returned without executing the move. These repeated failures led saints, local residents, and members of Hindu outfits to attribute the situation to divine intervention. At present, the idol of Khade Hanuman Ji remains sheltered beneath a temporary tent at the original location. Objections over New Site at Tanki Square and Directional Change
Protesting devotees have raised strong objections regarding the replacement site and the proposed orientation of the idol. The administration earmarked a location at nearby Tanki Square for rebuilding the temple. Representatives of the protesters highlighted that the idol currently faces south. In contrast, the site at Tanki Square would place the idol in a north-facing orientation. Devotees contend that altering the directional facing of a consecrated deity compromises the spiritual sanctum, ritual integrity, and religious significance of the temple. Consequently, worshiper groups refuse to permit the relocation of the idol from its original position.
Public Gathering and Hanuman Chalisa Recitation Following Mahakal Procession
Tensions rose on Tuesday evening following the conclusion of the royal procession of Baba Mahakal through the city. Reports spread among local communities that administration teams were preparing to launch a fresh attempt to remove the idol. Following these rumors, a large crowd comprising local residents, worshipers, members of Hindu activist groups, and Mahamundaleshwar Shaileshanand assembled near the site. The gathered crowd sat in front of the makeshift temple tent and collectively recited the Hanuman Chalisa while chanting slogans against the administrative move. Demonstrators issued a firm warning that any further attempt to forcefully displace the idol would face resolute opposition.

Leading the protest at the site, Hindu outfit leader Rupesh Thakur criticized the local government's urban renewal policies. He claimed that the administration has already removed around 60 temples in the city under the pretext of development projects. Drawing a parallel to historic political statements, he cited a quote by former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee regarding Lord Ram, stating that while Vajpayee warned against interfering with Lord Ram, protesters now issue a similar warning regarding Lord Hanuman. Furthermore, protesters demanded the immediate resignation of the Ujjain Municipal Corporation Mayor and the local Ward Councilor for failing to safeguard the religious heritage of the area, promising to intensify their agitations if the plan is not dropped.

Faced with growing public anger and continuous sit-in protests, the administration is treading cautiously to prevent any escalation or breach of peace. Civic authorities maintain that their primary objective is to shift the idol safely without damage while ensuring public order. In light of the unsuccessful relocation attempts and widespread public scrutiny, officials announced that a detailed technical evaluation of the idol and its foundation will be conducted. This expert technical assessment aims to examine the structural anchoring of the idol to determine viable options for its preservation and handling.
