She recently visited the historic Bhartrihari Cave in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, where she performed an impromptu dance dedicated to Lord Shiva on the first Monday of Sawan.
A dance with zero rehearsal
Deepika Singh shared a video on Instagram showing her dancing inside the Bhartrihari Cave to the song 'Chandrachud'. What makes the moment stand out is that there was no preparation or rehearsal behind it at all. According to the actress, she had watched a reel set to the same song a few days earlier, but the urge to dance struck her only after she stepped inside the cave, and she went ahead with it on the spot.

In the caption of her post, Deepika wrote, "Om Namah Shivaya. Wishing you all a happy first Monday of Sawan." She further shared that she sat inside the cave and meditated for a while, and it was the calm and positive energy of the place that pushed her to dance. Before she began, she said she remembered her guru, bowed to the earth, and then offered the entire performance to Lord Shiva.
A tribute to Lord Nataraj and Shiva
Describing the experience, Deepika Singh said it felt like moving meditation rather than just a dance. She said that while dancing, she felt as though time itself had come to a standstill. For her, it was a way of expressing gratitude to Lord Nataraj and Lord Shiva, and in that moment she felt a deep connection to nature, life and the energy of the universe.

Bhartrihari Cave is counted among the oldest and most religiously significant caves in Ujjain. According to belief, it is the site where King Bhartrihari once meditated and performed years of penance. King Bhartrihari also holds a special place in Indian literature, credited with celebrated Sanskrit works including 'Niti Shatak' among other texts. That is precisely why Deepika Singh's visit to this historic cave during the sacred occasion of Sawan, and her unplanned dance offered to Shiva there, has struck a chord with her fans.
