Expanding its commercial vehicle footprint in India, Mahindra has launched the new Mahindra Veero 1.1 XXL CNG mini truck. Alongside the new CNG variant, the manufacturer has also upgraded the existing Veero Diesel model by outfitting it with high-tech cabin comfort and connectivity features typically reserved for passenger hatchback cars. Commercial cargo vehicles are traditionally associated with basic cabins and bare-minimum equipment, but Mahindra aims to redefine driver comfort in the small commercial vehicle segment. Offering an ARAI-certified fuel efficiency of 21.4 km/kg and a combined driving range exceeding 450 km, the new Veero models are engineered to lower operational costs for urban delivery fleets and logistics operators.
Cargo Capacity and Superior Urban Maneuverability
Navigating crowded commercial hubs, narrow city lanes, and congested wholesale markets presents a constant challenge for intra-city cargo drivers. Mahindra has specifically engineered the Veero XXL CNG to tackle these urban operational bottlenecks. The vehicle features a tight turning radius of just 5.1 meters, enabling drivers to negotiate sharp turns and narrow alleyways effortlessly without complicated multi-point maneuvers.
In terms of hauling capability, the mini truck comes with a rated payload capacity of 1.1 tonnes (1,100 kg). It features a 2,900 mm (9.5 feet) long cargo deck, which is the longest cargo bed available in this vehicle segment. This spacious flatbed design makes the Veero particularly suitable for FMCG goods distribution, e-commerce last-mile deliveries, fruit and vegetable transport, as well as courier parcel operations across urban centers.
Engine Output and Fuel Efficiency Metrics
Under the hood, the Mahindra Veero XXL CNG is powered by a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated engine that generates 65 bhp of peak power and 98 Nm of maximum torque. The powertrain is tuned to balance load-carrying performance with minimal fuel expenditure. Its ARAI-certified fuel economy stands at 21.4 kilometers per kilogram of CNG fuel.
A key highlighted feature of the powertrain is its dual-fuel capability. By integrating both CNG and petrol fuel storage, the mini truck delivers a cumulative driving range of over 450 kilometers on full tanks. This extended range reduces frequent refueling stops during long delivery shifts and provides operational flexibility when traveling between cities or regions with sparse CNG infrastructure.
Hatchback-Grade Cabin Features and Smart Connectivity
The upgraded Mahindra Veero Diesel brings several segment-first comfort and technology features to commercial drivers. The central console houses a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment display supporting wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay integration. To streamline operation while driving, the system incorporates voice commands available in multiple Indian languages. For extended highway runs, Mahindra has also included cruise control to reduce driver fatigue.
The mini truck comes equipped with Mahindra's proprietary iMAXX connected technology suite. Through a smartphone application, fleet operators and drivers can remotely switch on the cabin air conditioning before entering the vehicle. The platform offers over 50 connected vehicle capabilities, including real-time vehicle GPS tracking, geofencing boundary alerts, and detailed fuel tracking analytics. Cabin amenities include an air conditioner with integrated heater, reclining driver seat, flat-folding seats for rest breaks, standard power windows, and fast USB charging sockets across all trim levels.
