Automaker Maruti Suzuki has officially revealed the complete variant-wise price structure for the automatic CNG editions of three widely popular cars, namely the Swift, Dzire, and Baleno. Designed to cater to urban commuters seeking low operational expenses alongside two-pedal driving convenience, these factory-fitted options feature automated manual transmissions. The introductory figures represent ex-showroom rates rolled out as special pricing for the festive season.
Engine Specifications and Claimed Efficiency
Under the hood, all three vehicles utilize a 1.2-litre, three-cylinder Z-Series powertrain. In CNG mode, this engine delivers an output of approximately 70 hp alongside 102 Nm of torque. It comes paired with a 5-speed Auto Gear Shift (AGS) gearbox designed to ease congestion-heavy city commutes by removing manual clutch operation. Fuel efficiency remains a primary highlight, with the Dzire CNG AMT leading the pack at an ARAI-rated 36.47 km/kg, followed by the Swift CNG AMT at 35.34 km/kg and the Baleno CNG AMT at 34.47 km/kg.
Swift CNG AMT Variants and Features
Serving as the most accessible entry point in this automated alternative-fuel range, the Swift CNG AMT is available in three distinct variants: VXI, VXI (O), and ZXI. Compared directly to its standard manual CNG counterpart, buyers are required to pay a premium of approximately Rs 35,000 to opt for the AGS setup. Its combination of pocket-friendly pricing, robust efficiency, and stress-free driving dynamics makes it well suited for daily metropolitan use.
Dzire and Baleno CNG AMT Options
In the compact sedan space, the Dzire CNG AMT provides the highest fuel economy in its segment. Maruti Suzuki offers this sedan across two trim levels, VXI and ZXI. Although the rear-mounted CNG cylinder reduces usable luggage capacity in the boot, the balance of interior comfort, generous passenger space, and minimal per-kilometer fuel expenses appeals strongly to family-oriented buyers. The price difference over the equivalent manual CNG version stands at roughly Rs 35,000.
Meanwhile, the premium hatchback offering, Baleno CNG AMT, retails exclusively through the company's Nexa dealership network. It arrives in two variants, Delta and Zeta, blending upscale cabin appointments and contemporary styling with economical running costs. Moving up from the manual CNG trim to the automatic gearbox requires a premium of Rs 40,000. This configuration provides a well-rounded option that performs reliably on busy urban streets as well as open highway stretches.
