Bhojpuri cinema star and singer Pawan Singh has once again found himself in the headlines over ongoing disputes in his personal life. The legal battle concerning his ongoing divorce and maintenance proceedings with his second wife, Jyoti Singh, has taken a strict turn as the court cracked down on the actor's repeated absence from the proceedings. While Jyoti Singh appeared before the family court alongside her legal counsel, the actor failed to make an appearance yet again, leading the judiciary to impose a fine on him.
Court Imposes Fine Over Repeated Absence
During the latest court hearing, Jyoti Singh was present with her lawyers to attend the proceedings. However, Pawan Singh's continuous non-appearance prompted the court to take strict action, resulting in a fine of three thousand rupees being levied against him. Earlier in September, the actor's legal team had cited his mother's declining health as the reason for his absence, and a similar medical ground was presented during this hearing as well. Due to the continuous lack of attendance, the court expressed its displeasure and fixed November 12 as the next date for the hearing of the case.
Jyoti Singh Slams The Actor And Warns Of Legal Escalation
Stepping out of the court premises, Jyoti Singh launched a scathing attack on her husband, accusing him of making a mockery of the judicial process. She questioned the exemption sought on the grounds of her mother-in-law's illness, claiming that her mother-in-law had already been discharged from the hospital prior to the hearing, yet medical exemptions were still utilized. Expressing her frustration over the prolonged four-year dispute, she stated that her patience is running thin, though she still wishes to live with him. She issued a stern warning that if she fails to secure justice locally, she will take the matter all the way to the Supreme Court.
Settlement Application And Future Course Of Action
Amidst the ongoing legal battle, Jyoti Singh's advocate revealed that an application regarding a one-time settlement had been filed in court from Pawan Singh's side. According to the legal representative, talks of a compromise are being initiated from the actor's end, but advancing the settlement process requires the actor's personal presence in court. All eyes are now set on the upcoming hearing scheduled for November 12 to see whether a viable path toward a mutual resolution can be reached or if the legal proceedings will escalate further.
