Examination confirmed that the rescued reptile was an Indian Rock Python measuring between 10 to 15 feet in length.
DFO Pratyush Kumar Katiyar explained that Indian Rock Pythons primarily inhabit dense forests, natural rock formations, and wilderness zones. However, ongoing torrential rains and flood-like conditions across several parts of Chitrakoot district have inundated natural animal habitats. As rising water levels flood underground burrows, snakes and other wild creatures are forced to migrate toward drier residential areas in search of elevated shelter.
