A shocking incident of violent domestic dispute has come to light from the Udahampur locality under the Mehdiganj police station area in the capital of Bihar. An elderly man allegedly launched a sudden attack with a sword on his son and daughter-in-law inside their home, inflicting critical sharp weapon injuries on both before help could arrive.
Injured Couple Undergoing Treatment in Hospital
The victims of the violent assault have been identified as 40-year-old Rajesh Singh and his 35-year-old wife Nikki Devi. Following the brutal attack, both individuals suffered serious wounds and were promptly rushed to a private hospital situated in Vijay Nagar, Kankarbagh. Medical professionals are currently monitoring their condition and providing necessary treatment.
Assault Carried Out While Victims Were Asleep
Recounting the horrifying ordeal from the hospital bed, Rajesh Singh claimed that the incident unfolded on Saturday morning while he and his wife were still fast asleep in their room. His 70-year-old father, Krishna Singh, allegedly entered the room armed with a sharp sword and assaulted them without any immediate provocation, leaving them badly wounded.
Prior Property Division and Lingering Dispute
Providing further family background, Rajesh Singh stated that they are two brothers and their father Krishna Singh lives separately. He mentioned that their father had already completed the division of ancestral assets and property between the two brothers in the past. Despite the formal separation, the sudden escalation to physical violence has raised questions, though investigators are yet to confirm whether the attack stemmed directly from property friction or other household grievances.

Confirming the incident, Patna City Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Shiv Shankar Kumar stated that reports of an elderly father injuring his son and daughter-in-law with a sharp weapon during a domestic altercation have been received. Law enforcement officials have initiated appropriate legal proceedings and are actively examining the crime scene alongside verifying the formal claims made by the injured son. Authorities noted that the exact trigger behind the violent escalation will become evident once the inquiry concludes.
