Farmer Ambushed and Threatened on Agricultural Land
The crime occurred on March 29, 2026, when Dhula Meena, a resident of Gothada, went to gather mahua at his farm in Bhatada. While he was working in the field, three individuals arrived on a motorcycle and confronted him. The assailants intimidated and threatened Dhula Meena, forcibly stealing a silver dhola weighing roughly 20 tolas directly from his hand before fleeing the scene. Following the incident, the victim approached the Aspur police station and filed a formal complaint.
Two Accomplices Nabbed Earlier While Prime Suspect Evaded Capture
According to ASI Rakesh Kumar of the Aspur police station, investigators initiated an inquiry utilizing technical surveillance alongside conventional policing methods. Progress was made early in the investigation when authorities tracked down and apprehended two individuals connected to the robbery, identified as Vinod and a juvenile in conflict with the law. However, Shravan Kanipa, identified as the primary perpetrator, managed to evade arrest and stayed on the run for nearly half a year.
Targeted Raid and Recovery of Stolen Valuables
To capture the elusive history-sheeter, the police activated local informant networks and monitored his movements through technical support. Acting on verified intelligence, law enforcement personnel conducted a raid and took Shravan Kanipa into custody. During the operation, police recovered the 20-tola silver dhola taken from the victim as well as the motorcycle used to execute the robbery.
Extensive Criminal Record Across Multiple Jurisdictions
Official records establish that Shravan Kanipa has a long history of unlawful conduct. Aside from Dovda, multiple cases of theft and robbery stand registered against him at Sagwara, Obri, Chitari, and Kotwali police stations. Investigators are questioning the accused in custody to determine whether he is linked to other unresolved property crimes in the district.
