In a major breakthrough, the police in the Banka district of Bihar have apprehended the primary suspect in the widely discussed Amarpur double murder case. Following the initial arrest of the key accused, Sachin Singh, law enforcement officials were transporting him to a specific location to recover the weapon used in the crime. During this transit, the situation escalated when the accused attempted to flee by opening fire on the police team.
Police Retaliation During Custody
In response to the sudden assault, the police team engaged in retaliatory firing to defend themselves. During this exchange, one of the bullets struck Sachin Singh in the leg, immobilizing him. He was immediately taken into custody and subsequently transferred to a hospital for medical treatment. The entire sequence of events and the subsequent injury of the suspect have been officially confirmed by Banka SP Amitesh Kumar.
Details of the Amarpur Crime
The incident originated in the Baliya Santhal Tola area under the jurisdiction of the Ratanpur Makadduma Panchayat in the Amarpur police station region. On the evening of July 5, two individuals identified as Gunjan Singh and Seetu Singh, who were traveling on a motorcycle, were fatally shot. The brazen nature of the attack caused widespread panic in the community. Initial investigations revealed that the victims and the accused, Sachin Singh, were previously friends; however, the murders were triggered by an internal dispute. An FIR was registered against both Sachin Singh and Somath Singh based on statements from the families of the deceased, leading to a series of police raids.

Following the injury and medical care of the prime accused, the police are now focused on the next stages of the investigation. Law enforcement authorities are conducting ongoing raids to locate other suspects involved in the double murder.
