A shocking murder investigation in Hajipur, Bihar, has revealed that a laborer lost his life due to a dangerous web of illicit relations and extortion. On the night of July 8, Amit Kumar, a laborer, was fatally shot in Matar Mala village, located in the Goraul area of Hajipur. While initial reports suggested a motive related to financial disputes, a thorough police investigation into the deceased's mobile phone and private data unearthed a much darker reality: Amit was involved in an affair with the wife of his contractor, Ashutosh Kumar.
The Real Dispute and Extortion Scheme
At the beginning of the investigation, it was believed that the crime stemmed from a monetary disagreement. Amit had been working for Ashutosh Kumar for the past five years and had reportedly kept his earnings with his employer. Rumors circulated that a conflict arose when Amit requested his savings back to purchase land, allegedly leading to a heated argument and eventually the shooting. Police had initiated standard procedures, including performing a post-mortem, handing over the body to the family, and recovering the weapon—a country-made pistol—from the bushes near the crime scene.
Dark Secrets Revealed in Mobile Data
The case took a dramatic turn when investigators examined the content of Amit's mobile phone. They discovered several compromising videos and photographs of the contractor’s wife that Amit had recorded. Using these digital assets, he had been actively blackmailing the woman. Upon learning about the illicit relationship and the extortion attempts, Ashutosh Kumar devised a plan to eliminate the laborer. Under the guise of returning his money, Ashutosh lured Amit to a secluded location and shot him in the head, resulting in his immediate death. Following the murder, the contractor fled the scene, but he has since been apprehended and incarcerated by the police.

Shubham Mishra, the Superintendent of Police (SP) for Vaishali district, provided an official briefing on the motive behind the incident. He confirmed that the murder was driven by the extramarital affair and the subsequent blackmailing attempts. The SP noted that it was particularly shocking that the weapon used in the crime had originally been provided by the victim, Amit, to Ashutosh. Despite their professional dynamic as laborer and contractor, the two shared a close, almost family-like bond. However, the revelation of the affair and Amit's attempts to exploit the situation ultimately led to this brutal act of violence. The accused, Ashutosh Kumar, is currently in police custody as the legal proceedings continue.
