A video clip featuring BPSC Controller of Examinations Rajesh Kumar went viral recently, capturing widespread attention and drawing severe criticism. The footage showed the official making an objectionable statement regarding the protests staged by candidates. Taking strict note of the viral video, Samrat Choudhary intervened and instructed the General Administration Department to initiate formal suspension proceedings against the official without delay.
The Context of the Controversial Statement
The controversy erupted during a press conference when journalists questioned the official about the ongoing student demonstrations taking place at Gardanibagh. In response to media queries regarding the agitation, Rajesh Kumar Singh remarked, "Elephant walks through the market, dogs bark in thousands," using a traditional proverb that was widely perceived as highly derogatory toward the protesting aspirants.
Apology and Subsequent Clarification
As the issue snowballed and faced severe backlash from various quarters, BPSC Controller Rajesh Kumar issued an expression of regret over his remarks. He maintained that he had merely used a common idiom which was being distorted and presented out of context.
