Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn is currently celebrating the massive success of his film 'Drishyam 3', which has emerged as the biggest film of his career with worldwide collections crossing 446 crore, while his wife Kajol is observing Navratri festivities with the family. Amidst these celebrations, the actor has faced civic action as the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation has cracked down on his Juhu bungalow over alleged unauthorized construction. Spanning an area of 7,802 square feet, Ajay Devgn's property is located within the Kapole Co-operative Housing Society, where civic authorities carried out demolition work on parts of the structure.
Construction Continued Despite Official Notices
Reports indicate that the municipal corporation had previously served a notice to the actor regarding the unauthorized alterations underway inside the bungalow. However, the construction work did not stop despite the notice being issued, prompting the civic body to take physical action. The allegations state that internal modifications were being carried out inside the bungalow without obtaining the necessary permissions from the civic authorities. Changes including partition walls, windows, and other construction activities were being executed without required municipal approvals, leading to the initial issuance of a stop-work notice and subsequent demolition after the warnings were ignored.
Action Taken Under Mumbai Municipal Corporation Act
The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation had issued a notice under Section 354A of the Mumbai Municipal Corporation Act on September 10, 2026, directing an immediate halt to the renovation work alongside a demand for necessary documents and permissions. Despite the directive, construction activities continued unabated, which led the municipal corporation to demolish the unauthorized portions of the structure. Photographs emerged on Saturday showing civic personnel using hammers to dismantle parts of the ongoing construction work at the premises.
