The festive fervour of Sharad Navratri is currently gripping the nation, with grand celebrations underway across various cities. In Mumbai, the iconic North Bombay Sarbojanik Durga Puja pandal hosted by the Mukherjee family has once again captured massive public attention. Marking its monumental 80th year of celebration, this nearly eight-decade-old tradition continues to draw large crowds and numerous Bollywood celebrities. Amidst the ongoing festivities, a striking video has surfaced from the pandal, showing a dramatic moment during a traditional ritual that has since taken social media by storm.
Woman Appears Possessed During Dhunuchi Dance
The viral footage captures the lively atmosphere of the traditional dhunuchi dance inside the crowded celebration venue. Actress Tanishaa Mukherjee and several other participants were actively engaged in the energetic ritual when a devotee in the gathering seemingly entered a trance-like state, overcome by religious fervor. The woman began shaking her head intensely and forcefully rattled a large donation box stationed nearby. Alert bystanders quickly rushed in to steady the heavy donation box to prevent it from toppling over. Meanwhile, Tanishaa Mukherjee and other performers momentarily stepped back to give her space while the intense moment unfolded.
Jaya Bachchan and Kajol Share Warm Moments
True to annual traditions, the Mukherjee family pandal witnessed a star-studded gathering. Veteran actress Jaya Bachchan arrived at the venue accompanied by her daughter Shweta Bachchan Nanda to offer prayers to Goddess Durga. Upon arrival, Jaya shared a warm and affectionate exchange with Kajol. Jaya Bachchan warmly embraced Kajol inside the Durga Puja pandal, arriving with daughter Shweta while Nysa and Yug were also spotted. The two senior actresses engaged in cheerful conversation, posed smilingly for cameras, and later clicked photographs alongside Ayan Mukherjee, Tanishaa, and other family members.
Nysa and Yug Join Family Celebrations
The entire Mukherjee family remains actively involved throughout the multi-day Navratri observations, and this year was no exception. Kajol and Ajay Devgn's children, Nysa and Yug, also made prominent appearances at the venue. Kajol donned a mustard yellow saree for the occasion, while Nysa looked elegant in a powder blue silk saree. Yug was dressed in a traditional white kurta-pyjama, and the siblings posed together for photographs with their mother. Notably, prior to the commencement of the celebrations, Tanishaa Mukherjee had addressed the media and public during a press conference in Mumbai, appealing to photographers and visitors to maintain decorum and discipline inside the pandal.
