Heavy monsoon rain and hours-long traffic jams are practically routine in Mumbai, and this time the inconvenience caught up with none other than Bollywood actor Randeep Hooda, whose unusual solution to beat the chaos has now become a talking point on social media.
Stuck in traffic after a shoot, he headed for the metro
According to the details that have emerged, Randeep Hooda was on his way home after wrapping up a shooting schedule when heavy rain began to lash the city. Roads quickly turned into a massive traffic jam. Rather than wait it out for hours, he made a quick call and headed straight to the nearest metro station.
Masked up, he travelled like any other commuter
To avoid being recognised in the crowd, Randeep put on a face mask, and as a result most of the passengers in the coach had no idea who was travelling alongside them. There was no rush and no security cover around him; he simply stood in the metro coach like every other commuter. He was dressed in black jeans, a brown t-shirt and a checked shirt over it.
The video went viral, and fans praised his simplicity
Clips and photos of Randeep walking through the metro station and travelling like an ordinary passenger soon started doing the rounds online. Once the video reached the internet, fans showered praise on his down-to-earth behaviour. Several users wrote that despite being such a big star, Randeep's grounded nature is what sets him apart from other celebrities.
He isn't the only star to take the metro
This isn't the first time a Bollywood celebrity has turned to the metro to dodge Mumbai's notorious traffic. Akshay Kumar, Hrithik Roshan and Hema Malini have also been spotted riding the metro in the past.
Recently became a father
On the personal front, Randeep Hooda has recently become a father. On March 10, 2026, Randeep and his wife Lin Laishram welcomed a baby girl. About a month after her birth, the couple shared the first glimpse of their daughter on social media and revealed her name.
Busy with multiple projects on the work front
As for work, Randeep Hooda has been continuously busy with various projects for a while now. He will next be seen alongside Shraddha Kapoor in the film Eetha.
