The much-anticipated cinematic reunion of Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan has finally arrived in theaters with the film Haivaan. Following their last big-screen appearance together in the 2008 film Tashan, fans had high expectations, but the box office numbers tell a completely different story. The movie has struggled to pull crowds into cinema halls, resulting in a notably weak start to its theatrical run.

The theatrical journey for Haivaan began with very modest figures, raking in approximately 3 crore rupees on its opening day. Looking at theater occupancy, morning shows recorded a sparse 5 percent turnout, though afternoon and evening slots saw a slight improvement, climbing up to 12 percent. Night shows brought in a somewhat better response with occupancy crossing 18 percent, yet the overall opening day collections remained far below expectations.
Drop in Collections on the Second Day
Facing stiff competition from the already established Mirzapur: The Movie running strongly in theaters, the thriller also had to deal with negative reviews from critics. According to data from the trade website Sacnilk, the film managed to collect only 2.50 crore rupees on its second day, which is a Saturday. This marked a 16.7 percent decline compared to the opening day earnings. Overall theater occupancy on Saturday stood at 12.77 percent, peaking at around 16 percent during the evening. After two days, the total domestic collection for the film stands at 5.50 crore rupees, raising major concerns for the makers.
Star Cast and Plot Details
In this psychological thriller, Saif Ali Khan plays the role of a visually impaired individual, while Akshay Kumar portrays a psycho killer. Directed by Priyadarshan, the movie features Boman Irani, Shriya Pilgaonkar, and Saiyami Kher in significant supporting roles. The ensemble cast also includes Rajpal Yadav, Sharib Hashmi, Rajesh Sharma, and Manoj Joshi, alongside a special cameo appearance by South superstar Mohanlal.
