For Mirzapur loyalists, today feels like a festival. The moment fans had waited years for has finally arrived. After ruling the OTT world, the saga is now ready to seize the throne on the big screen. The first teaser of 'Mirzapur: The Movie' has spread like wildfire across social media the moment it dropped, and viewers have been pouring in their reactions ever since. The eagerness to catch this film in theatres is unmistakable. The teaser shows Kaaleen Bhaiya once again holding the reins of the story, Munna Bhaiya bringing back his old swagger, and Guddu Pandit returning with all his attitude. But this time, the biggest jolt is expected to come from Ravi Kishan.
What Makes The Teaser Special
One look at the teaser makes it clear that the makers have mounted everything on a grand scale this time. There is bloodshed, the same old dark comedy and a generous dose of explosive action. Not much has been revealed about the plot yet, but the teaser hints that the film will unfold an untold tale from 2018. The biggest surprise for fans is the return of Munna Bhaiya, played by Divyendu. The teaser carries Mirzapur's signature swagger, which makes it feel far grander than the OTT series. The same worry on Kaaleen Bhaiya's face, the Pandit brothers' big dream and Munna Bhaiya's dominance are all intact, while the fresh twist this time is being linked to Ravi Kishan.
Who Showed Up And Who Was Missed
The film's real strength is its star cast. The teaser brings back the commanding presence of Pankaj Tripathi as Kaaleen Bhaiya, the absence of which was felt in the previous season. Alongside him, Ali Fazal (Guddu Pandit) and Divyendu (Munna Bhaiya) appear in their familiar roles. However, viewers turned emotional over one face, and that is Vikrant Massey. Fans of 'Bablu Bhaiya' kept looking for him on screen this time too, but he is not part of this film. His place has been taken by Panchayat fame Jitendra Kumar.
A Flood Of Fan Reactions
Reactions have poured in on the social media platform X (Twitter) over the teaser. Viewers are calling it a 'cinematic masterpiece' and a 'certified banger'. One user wrote, 'The OG gang is back and it's a banger, returning with an untold story from 2018. This is going to be so good. Have missed Kaaleen Bhaiya's one liners so much.'
Praising the action, another viewer wrote, 'Mirzapur The Movie bhaukal, bawaal, badass, pure cinematic scale, terrific action, bloody signature style bhaukal.' One person, changing his earlier opinion, said, 'Yesterday I had raised doubts about whether Mirzapur The Movie could work in theatres, but this teaser has genuinely changed my mind. It no longer feels like a long OTT episode, but a real big-screen cinematic event with big scale, terrific action and tremendous swagger. The old cast, terrific BGM and the canvas of the film, I am eagerly waiting to watch it.'
Listing out the entire cast, a user wrote, 'If you kill all the subjects, who will you rule over, this is the essence of Mirzapur The Movie which is returning in a much bigger avatar, with the OG team of Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal and Divyendu along with Ravi Kishan. All other characters are also returning, with Jitendra Kumar as the new addition. With this teaser, director Gurmeet Singh and writer Puneet Krishna are promising full on bhaukal in Mirzapur. Produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar and co-produced by Kasim Jagmagia and Vishal Ramchandani, Mirzapur The Movie is set to arrive in theatres in Hindi and Telugu on 4 September.'
Another admirer wrote, 'This is going to be a massive blast, brother! Mirzapur's loyal viewers will go crazy for Mirzapur The Movie in theatres. Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal and Munna Bhaiya alone are enough to pull OTT viewers to theatres. Ravi Kishan and Jeetu Bhaiya are the icing on the cake. Very excited for this!' Speculating about the plot, another said, 'Same cast, same thinking, just bigger players, bigger stakes and a lot more violence. It only remains to be seen whether this story is set somewhere in between S1 or whether it is a reboot? Either way, entertainment seems guaranteed.'
One fan even compared it to another big release, writing, 'The teaser of Mirzapur The Movie is terrific. This film could give competition to Dhurandhar. The famous rivalry of Guddu and Munna is returning once again, bigger and fiercer than before. India's biggest OTT franchise is now coming to theatres. Eagerly waiting for 4 September.'
Release Date And The Box Office Test
'Mirzapur: The Movie' is set to hit theatres on 4 September 2026. With no major release clashing around that time, it is being seen as a strong contender to become a mega hit. While the series earned boundless love from audiences, it will now be interesting to watch whether the theatre crowd gives Kaaleen Bhaiya's swagger the same kind of response.
