Telugu screen star Nani is returning to movie theatres on September 24 with his much-anticipated action spectacle, 'The Paradise'. Having weathered two earlier postponements, the big-budget project is finally reaching audiences amid significant pre-release fanfare. Early ticket trends suggest that the period actioner has already generated enormous commercial momentum hours before public screenings commence. Helmed by filmmaker Srikanth Odela, the feature has crossed the Rs 43 crore benchmark worldwide purely through pre-sales, shattering several previous personal bests set by the lead actor. Meanwhile, India's Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) cleared the production with an 'A' certificate, restricting theatre entry strictly to adult audiences.
Global Advance Numbers Breach Milestone Levels
According to figures collated by industry tracker Sacnilk through September 23, first-day advance bookings for 'The Paradise' have crossed Rs 43.77 crore across worldwide theatrical territories. When excluding seats currently reserved or blocked by theatre management, the film generated Rs 36.60 crore in direct ticket sales, lifting the comprehensive tally to Rs 43.77 crore. The single largest financial driver has been Hyderabad, where moviegoers pushed local ticket pre-sales to an impressive Rs 14.45 crore.
Territorial Breakdown Places Telangana on Top
A regional dissection of the ticket sales illustrates extraordinary consumer appetite across Telugu-speaking circuits. Telangana dominated the landscape by generating Rs 19.61 crore in opening-day pre-sales, accounting for roughly 39% of the global sum. Adjoining Andhra Pradesh registered Rs 11.35 crore in early ticketing revenue. Beyond the core home belt, Karnataka added Rs 3.84 crore, while Tamil Nadu brought in Rs 1.51 crore. In northern and western hubs, early footfalls yielded Rs 44.84 lakh across Maharashtra and Rs 18.50 lakh in Delhi.
These figures position the project comfortably above Nani's previous box office milestones. His 2025 release, 'HIT: The 3rd Case', amassed Rs 37.80 crore worldwide on its opening day, while securing an opening net take of Rs 21 crore across domestic screens. The current pre-sales trajectory suggests that 'The Paradise' will easily surpass that threshold once complete opening-day footfalls are accounted for.
Ensemble Cast, Period Lore and Trailer-Free Strategy
Produced under the SLV Cinemas banner, the film features an eclectic ensemble cast supporting Nani, including Raghav Juyal, Mohan Babu, Kayadu Lohar and Sonali Kulkarni in pivotal roles. The project marks the second creative collaboration between Nani and director Srikanth Odela, who previously delivered the successful 2023 rustic action film 'Dasara'. Set against the socio-political backdrop of 1980s Secunderabad, the narrative chronicles the trajectory of Jadal, a protagonist navigating deep-rooted social marginalisation and survival instincts before emerging into an unforeseen leadership position.
Diverging sharply from standard promotional formulas, the production team deliberately opted against releasing a promotional trailer prior to theatrical distribution. This unconventional move aimed to preserve absolute mystery around the plot. To maximise global accessibility, the title is launching simultaneously across eight different tongues, spanning Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, Bengali, Spanish and English.
