Reflecting on her experience during the production of the 1995 film Aatank Hi Aatank, she shared how shooting a passionate romantic scene with co-star Aamir Khan left her feeling deeply anxious, and how a thoughtful gesture from him instantly put her at ease.
Tension And Silence Following An Intimate Shoot
Recalling the incident, Pooja Bedi explained that the filming took place at a spacious bungalow studio situated near Film City. During that era, vanity vans were not yet commonplace on movie sets, meaning actors usually rested inside the studio's rooms between takes. Immediately after wrapping an intense love scene, the filmmakers instructed both Pooja Bedi and Aamir Khan to wait in a studio room that had a bed in it.
As a newcomer in the film industry at the time, Pooja Bedi admitted that her mind began racing with apprehension. Sitting in the room, she wondered if she was caught in the awkward, uncomfortable situations often whispered about within Bollywood circles. Both actors sat in complete silence, exchanging glances while the tension built up in the room.
How Aamir Khan Broke The Ice With Chess
Noticing her visible anxiety and hesitation, Aamir Khan took the initiative to break the quiet atmosphere. He turned to her and asked if she would like to play a game of chess. Since both of them frequently enjoyed playing chess together on set, Pooja Bedi gladly accepted the offer. Aamir Khan brought out a chess set, setting it up in the room to play.
