Actress Shruti Haasan has bought a luxurious new house in Chennai, and on Monday, July 13, she formally moved in with a traditional housewarming ceremony. She was joined by close friends for the puja, and photos from the celebration have since spread quickly across social media.
A simple, traditional look for the big day
For the housewarming ritual, Shruti Haasan kept her look understated. She wore a blue suit, a garland of flowers around her neck, and a tilak on her forehead as she sat on the floor to take part in the traditional puja. Pictures from the ceremony show sweets laid out as offerings alongside the keys to her new home, underlining that the ritual was carried out in full traditional style.
Family missing from the frame, friends step in
On this significant day, Shruti's close friends stood by her side, but her family was notably absent from the pictures that have surfaced. Her father Kamal Haasan and mother Sarika were not seen at the event. Even so, the actress appeared visibly happy, with her friends' presence making the occasion feel special.
Fan pages and a paparazzo share the glimpses
Pictures capturing Shruti's housewarming were posted by her fan pages on Instagram, while a paparazzo page also shared images from her new home. Alongside the photos, it was noted that Shruti Haasan had begun a new chapter of her life by stepping into her new house, spending the special day surrounded by friends and people close to her. The actress herself posted photos of the housewarming ceremony on her own Instagram stories. Once the traditional puja was done, Shruti headed out to celebrate with her friends at a party, and she shared glimpses from inside that celebration with fans on social media as well.
She already owns a striking home in Mumbai
Besides the new Chennai property, Shruti Haasan also owns a lavish house in Mumbai, a glimpse of which she had earlier shown on Farah Khan's vlog. Farah Khan had visited the actress's home specifically to film an episode of her celebrity vlog, during which it became clear that the space reflects Shruti's deep passion for music, with the interiors offering a window into her personality. The living room of her Mumbai home is split into three distinct sections, a music room, a seating area and a dining space. The walls are deliberately left unpainted, the ceilings are kept high, and large windows let in plenty of natural light. Colourful paintings on the walls round out the decor, giving the home a distinctive look and feel.
