To ensure that vacant seats in higher education institutions do not go unfilled, several universities across Northern India are offering direct admission opportunities to non-CUET candidates. Following the footsteps of Delhi University, affiliated colleges of Allahabad University in Uttar Pradesh and Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University in Uttarakhand have opened admission pathways for non-CUET applicants for the current academic session.
Ishwar Sharan Degree College Opens Non-CUET Admissions for BA and BSC Courses
Ishwar Sharan Degree College, a constituent college of Allahabad University, has updated its admission guidelines to include non-CUET candidates. While the college initially allowed non-CUET applicants only in the BSC Mathematics program, it has now expanded this relief to BA 1st year courses as well. The college management scheduled the online admission process for non-CUET candidates on 28 August.
Participation in this online process is restricted to students who had previously registered on the college portal. These pre-registered candidates will be considered for available seats alongside applicants registered through CUET, offering a crucial second chance to students who missed the national level entrance test due to technical or personal reasons.
Allahabad Degree College (ADC) Releases New Cutoffs for BA, BSC, and BCom
Allahabad Degree College (ADC) has officially announced its new cutoff marks for first-year undergraduate admissions. Admissions for BA and BSC courses will take place on 31 August. Under the revised criteria, non-CUET candidates will be permitted to participate in the BA admission process against vacant seats.
For BSC admissions, priority access will be granted to specific quota candidates who took the CUET, including sports quota, divyang (differently-abled), Kashmiri migrants, and mountain quota applicants. Campus-wise cutoff details reveal that the BCom cutoff at the Kourdibagh campus stands at 100 marks. Meanwhile, at the Zero Road campus, admissions for BA and BCom courses have been thrown open to all candidates across remaining seats.
Allahabad University Main Campus Cutoff Marks and Fee Submission Schedule
The main campus of Allahabad University has issued its 10th cutoff list for BA and the 13th cutoff list for BSC Mathematics. Candidates allocated seats under these cutoffs must finalize their admission formalities by 10:00 AM on 31 August. Candidates must also deposit the required admission fees within this specified timeframe to secure their seats.
According to the official cutoff release, the BA cutoff for the General category ranges between 439 and 430 marks, EWS category between 365 and 360 marks, OBC category between 369 and 361 marks, and SC category between 317 and 308 marks. In the BSC Mathematics course, the cutoff stands at 412.75 to 414.50 marks for General category, 364.50 to 367 marks for OBC, 372 to 376 marks for EWS, and 279 to 282 marks for SC applicants. Additionally, the BAFM cutoff has been set at 660.13 marks for unreserved candidates, 621.19 marks for OBC, and 503.66 marks for SC candidates.
Physical Document Verification Schedule for Newly Admitted Students
Allahabad University has also extended relief to students enrolled in BA, BSC Math, and BSC Bio first-year courses who failed to complete their physical document verification and enrollment during the initial round. Special verification counters have been established at the Pravesh Bhawan to assist these students.
BSC Mathematics students can present their original documents for physical verification at Pravesh Bhawan on 31 August and 1 September between 10:00 AM and 1:00 PM. For BA students, physical document verification will run from 31 August through 2 September. Verification sessions for BA will operate in two daily shifts: the morning shift from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM and the afternoon shift from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
HNB Garhwal University Opens Admission Based on Class 12 Marks
In Uttarakhand, Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University has launched a separate admission drive for students who did not appear for CUET. The university has permitted non-CUET admissions on vacant undergraduate seats for the 2026-27 academic session. Non-CUET applicants can register on the university admission portal until 31 August.
Admissions for non-CUET candidates at Garhwal University will be determined strictly by merit calculated from Class 12 board examination scores. Merit lists will be generated following the closure of registrations. The university has directed all affiliated colleges and campuses to complete the entire non-CUET admission procedure by 4 September 2026. Applicants are advised to check seat availability in their desired subjects and campuses before registering.
Garhwal University Registration Fees and Essential Guidelines
Garhwal University has specified the registration fee structure for non-CUET applicants. General category candidates must pay a registration fee of Rs 400. Candidates belonging to SC, ST, and Divyang categories are required to pay a reduced fee of Rs 200.
Because seat vacancies differ across individual campuses and constituent colleges, applicants must independently verify vacant seat counts in their chosen programs prior to submitting their registration forms.
