Addressing the breakdown in administration, senior actress Upasana Singh spoke candidly about the disrespect and unilateral governance within the organization. She alleged that major choices were being executed without obtaining general consent and designated positions were being reassigned without issuing prior notifications.
Mass Resignations and Internal Discord at CINTA
The exodus from the governing body features prominent industry figures including Mukesh Rishi, Punit Issar, and Vindu Dara Singh alongside eight other members. The resigning group cited a complete lack of consultation in administrative matters as the core reason for their departure. Upasana Singh affirmed that with 11 executive figures stepping down simultaneously, the functioning governing committee stands officially dissolved due to an unsustainable operational culture.
Allegations of Class Distinctions and Language Bias
Detailing the treatment meted out during organizational meetings, Upasana Singh revealed that she faced condescending remarks due to her lack of fluency in English, with derogatory terms like 'aira-gaira' (riff-raff) being directed at her. She specifically named Poonam Dhillon and Padmini Kolhapure, stating they drew explicit boundaries by labeling her as merely a character artist while highlighting their own status as stars. Upasana Singh noted that such terminology was deployed intentionally to demean fellow members.
Journey from Shyarpur to Global Recognition
Reflecting on her professional path, Upasana Singh shared that she originated from a small town named Shyarpur and built her standing in the entertainment sector entirely from scratch. She emphasized that her international recognition stems solely from her work over the years. Her motivation for joining CINTA was rooted in a desire to give back to the industry, aiming to advocate not only for actors but also for crew members and technicians across the entire filmmaking ecosystem.
Mistreatment of Veteran Actors and Medical Emergency
Upasana Singh highlighted that the uncomfortable environment affected multiple members, detailing an ordeal involving actor Deepak Parashar. She stated that Deepak Parashar was similarly targeted over his English language abilities. Following an unpleasant encounter involving CP Thakur, an emotional Deepak Parashar left the venue in tears and developed acute physical distress, requiring Upasana Singh to rush him to a hospital. She stated that committee members had tolerated this conduct for two and a half years before reaching a breaking point that led to their resignations.
