Hair fall, dryness, and premature greying have become very common concerns for many people today. To combat these issues, individuals often try various expensive shampoos, oils, and chemical treatments available in the market. Meanwhile, some prefer relying on natural, household remedies. Mona Chawla, a resident of Rampur, has shared a special traditional remedy to help care for hair using accessible ingredients. This preparation uses simple items like amla, fenugreek seeds, kalonji, curry leaves, and tea leaves to create a nourishing herbal water for the scalp and hair.
How to prepare and store dried amla
The process of making this remedy begins with preparing the core ingredient properly. Take fresh amlas and wash them thoroughly with water. Next, grate the amlas and spread them out on a clean cloth to dry under the sun. Once the amlas are completely dried, store them in an airtight container for future use whenever required. This ensures a steady supply of dried amla for preparing the hair care blend.
Brewing the amla, fenugreek and kalonji water
Take about four spoons of dried amla depending on the length and requirement of your hair. Put it in an iron pan with water and let it soak overnight. In the morning, when the color of the water changes, place the pan on the stove. Now add two spoons of kalonji, two spoons of fenugreek seeds, and seven to eight curry leaves to it. Boil this mixture until the water reduces to about half. After that, turn off the stove and strain the water thoroughly.
Adding tea leaves decoction and coconut oil
Next, prepare a strong decoction by boiling four spoons of tea leaves in water. Strain this and mix it into the previously prepared amla water. Finally, add two spoons of coconut oil to the mixture and stir everything well. This completes the preparation of the homemade hair treatment liquid, combining multiple traditional ingredients known for their beneficial properties.
Application method and important precautions
According to the method suggested by Mona Chawla, this mixture should be applied to clean hair. Use cotton to gently apply it to the roots and length of the hair. Leave it on for some time, and there is no need to wash the hair again immediately after application. Amla contains vitamin C and antioxidants, while fenugreek seeds contain protein and other nutrients. Curry leaves and coconut oil are also traditionally used for hair care, and tea leaves can provide a temporary tint. However, this mixture does not guarantee the complete stopping of hair fall or the permanent reversal of grey hair. It is always recommended to perform a patch test on a small area of skin before applying any home remedy, and consult a dermatologist if hair fall is severe.
