Anant Ambani, Executive Director of Reliance Industries, visited the renowned Tirumala Sri Venkateswara Swami temple in Andhra Pradesh. During his visit on Sunday, he took part in prayers for Lord Venkateswara and attended the morning Suprabhatam seva. As part of the religious rituals, Anant Ambani underwent a tonsuring ceremony and offered his hair to the deity.
Veda Ashirvachanam and honors
Following the darshan, Vedic scholars conducted a Veda Ashirvachanam ceremony for him within the Ranganayakula Mandapam located inside the temple premises. During the event, officials from the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) presented him with Srivari Tirtha Prasadam and honored him with a traditional silk shawl.
Major donation for eco-friendly transport
During the occasion, Anant Ambani announced a significant contribution to the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams. He confirmed that Reliance Industries will donate 25 electric buses to the temple administration, with an estimated cost of 27.5 crore rupees.
Operational support and infrastructure
The commitment from the company extends beyond the provision of the vehicles. Anant Ambani clarified that Reliance Industries will also cover the salaries and associated allowances for the 50 drivers required to operate these buses. Furthermore, to facilitate the smooth functioning of this electric bus fleet, the company will provide full support in setting up EV charging stations in Tirumala.
