Employees working in various government sectors across Chhattisgarh who aspire to climb to higher positions have received a significant relief from the state administration. During a crucial cabinet meeting held on Wednesday at Mahanadi Bhavan under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, formal approval was granted to increase the maximum age limit for government services. Following these updated guidelines, state employees can now apply for alternative government roles and higher positions up to the age of 45 years. Previously, this upper age threshold was capped at 38 years. The scope of this historical policy change extends beyond permanent personnel, including contractual workers, home guards, and employees associated with various municipal corporations and autonomous institutions within the state.
A 500 Crore Rupee Startup Mission to Foster Entrepreneurship
Taking a major stride toward transforming local youth from job seekers into job creators, the cabinet has given its official green light to a 500 crore rupee Chief Minister Startup and NIPUN Mission spanning the next five years. Under the framework of this initiative, dedicated entrepreneurship development centers will be established across all 33 districts of the state. These facilities will not merely provide skill training but will also equip participants with financial funding and expert guidance to launch independent business ventures. Furthermore, the plan includes the construction of 100 emerging technology labs and five industry excellence centers focused on training youth in futuristic domains such as artificial intelligence, robotics, and advanced coding. The newly introduced NIPUN Job Engine will align workforce preparation directly with real-world industry demands to secure direct employment opportunities.
Setting Up a Premier National Skill Training Institute in New Raipur
Strengthening the state's infrastructure in vocational education, the cabinet also sanctioned a proposal to establish Chhattisgarh's first National Skill Training Institute in New Raipur. Operating under the aegis of the Union Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, there are currently 33 such institutes functional across the nation, and the upcoming facility in New Raipur will serve as the state's inaugural world-class training destination.
These sweeping administrative changes will directly benefit candidates preparing for upcoming examinations conducted by the Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission and the Chhattisgarh Professional Examination Board. Employees who have already crossed the previous 38-year ceiling, particularly contractual staff and lower-grade workers, will now be eligible to participate in the CGPSC state services examinations, upcoming assistant professor recruitment drives, and positions such as revenue inspectors and hostel wardens featured in the recruitment board calendar for the year 2027.
