The Chhattisgarh government has increased the upper age limit for government job applicants to 45 years and cleared plans for a new skill training institute in Nava Raipur.

The administration headed by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai in Chhattisgarh has greenlit a series of significant measures aimed at uplifting state employees, young entrepreneurs, and local infrastructure. Following a high-level cabinet meeting, Deputy Chief Minister Arun Saw addressed a press briefing to outline the decisions. The resolutions focus on expanding employment opportunities, boosting skill development, enhancing trade, and strengthening the overall administrative framework across the state.

Relaxation in Upper Age Limit for Government Positions

Among the most impactful measures announced is a major relief for individuals already in public service. Permanent, temporary, and contractual workers, along with personnel from various boards, autonomous bodies, and home guards serving under the state administration, have been granted a substantial relaxation. The maximum age limit for these employees to apply for higher posts and alternate government services has been raised from 38 years to 45 years, offering them extended career progression avenues.

Launch of Chief Minister Startup and NIPUN Mission 2

To steer the youth away from merely seeking employment and towards becoming job creators, the administration has cleared the rollout of a comprehensive entrepreneurship initiative backed by a 500 crore rupee financial outlay allocated over the next five years. The program entails setting up entrepreneurship development centers across all 33 districts of the state. Furthermore, 100 emerging technology laboratories and 5 industry excellence centers will be established. Through the NIPUN Job Engine framework, candidates will receive specialized training tailored to the current demands of modern industries.

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai shared details of the initiative on the X platform, reiterating that the administration remains continuously dedicated to fostering innovation and expanding professional avenues for the younger demographic.

To transform the region into a prominent export hub, a dedicated export promotion policy has been formally approved. This framework is designed to bridge local agricultural and industrial producers with international markets, thereby streamlining global reach. The move is expected to bolster the state trade ecosystem and strengthen the overall logistics network.

A National Skill Training Institute will be established at Tenduwa village within Atal Nagar in Nava Raipur. For this project, 10 acres of land will be provided free of cost to the Union Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship. Spanning an estimated expenditure of 200 crore rupees, the facility will cater to 1,000 trainees enrolled in long-term programs and 3,000 individuals taking up short-term technical courses every year.

Modern Court Complex Planned in Durg

To upgrade judicial infrastructure, the cabinet has cleared the construction of a modern district court complex in Durg district. An area spanning 4 hectares has been sanctioned for this project, which is expected to significantly improve the delivery of judicial services and alleviate infrastructural constraints in the region.
