To boost forest tourism in Chhattisgarh, a new buffer safari will be launched on November 1 from the Kevchi Gate of the Achanakmar Tiger Reserve in Bilaspur. The state forest minister will virtually inaugurate this new tourism facility at 11 am. The introduction of this service will grant tourists a close-up opportunity to witness the dense forests, wildlife, and natural beauty of the region.
Special Vehicle Arrangements at Kevchi Gate
Under this fresh initiative, two specific vehicles have been arranged for safaris at the Kevchi Gate. These include a six-seater gypsy and an eight-seater Maharani vehicle. Tourists will be able to take a tour of the forest along designated routes using these vehicles. This addition provides visitors coming to Achanakmar with an entirely new sightseeing option.
Connecting Circuit Between Amarkantak and Ratanpur
The launch originating from the Kevchi Gate of the Achanakmar Tiger Reserve is considered a significant step toward establishing a tourism circuit linking Amarkantak, Achanakmar, and Ratanpur. There are comprehensive plans to boost tourism activities across these areas via the RMKK Road. The primary goal is to offer travelers a combined experience of scenic beauty, wildlife, and revered religious sites.
A Unique Blend of Religious and Natural Heritage
Amarkantak holds a special significance within this proposed tourism circuit. Renowned as the origin of the Narmada River, Amarkantak stands as a major hub for both religious and nature-based tourism. Meanwhile, the Maa Mahamaya Temple located in Ratanpur serves as a vital center of faith for devotees. Situated right between these two prominent locations, the Achanakmar Tiger Reserve is widely known for its rich biodiversity and dense woods.
Natural Habitat and Rich Biodiversity
The Achanakmar Tiger Reserve ranks among the foremost wildlife conservation zones in Chhattisgarh. The terrain features Sal and mixed forests, alongside hills, valleys, and a remarkably rich ecosystem. It acts as a natural home for tigers and numerous other wildlife species and birds. Through the buffer safari, nature enthusiasts will get an intimate look at the native forest environment.
The commencement of the buffer safari is expected to accelerate tourism-related activities throughout the region. Developing Amarkantak, Achanakmar, and Ratanpur together as a cohesive tourist circuit could increase the average duration of visitors' stays. Furthermore, locals involved in vehicle operations, guide services, food and beverage, and other tourism amenities are likely to benefit economically.
Balancing Tourism with Wildlife Safety
However, alongside promoting forest tourism, ensuring the security of wildlife and preserving the natural habitat remains crucial. Operating controlled safaris strictly along designated routes will provide visitors with a forest experience while educating them on environmental conservation. Strict adherence to departmental guidelines and safety protocols will be vital in this regard.
Strengthening Regional Tourism Potential
The buffer safari starting from the Kevchi Gate on November 1 marks a novel effort to expand tourism facilities in the Achanakmar region. Ultimately, its success will depend heavily on efficient management, the quality of amenities provided to tourists, and effective promotion. With proper administration, the area can firmly establish its identity as a prominent hub for nature, religious, and wildlife tourism.
