A sharp response has emerged from cricketer Virat Kohli following allegations linking his visits to Vrindavan spiritual leader Premanand Maharaj with monetary payments. Amid scrutiny surrounding the guru and his ashram after the suspicious demise of a disciple, allegations surfaced asserting that Kohli had received five crore rupees to pay his first visit. The cricketer has strongly countered these claims, dismissing them outright through a formal clarification.
Allegations of Paid Visits Dismissed
The controversy started when Dinesh Falahari, chief of the Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi Sangharsh Nyas, alleged that an amount of five crore rupees was given to Virat Kohli and his wife to arrange their meeting with Premanand Maharaj. Responding directly to these assertions, Kohli released an official statement categorizing the entire claim as unfounded, factually incorrect, and completely false.
Reverence and Personal Faith, Not Money
A spokesperson for the cricketer emphasized that Kohli's presence at the ashram is strictly personal and guided entirely by faith and deep respect for the spiritual figure. The spokesperson noted that the statements made by Falahari Maharaj Dinesh Sharma lack any truth or basis, adding that Kohli meets Premanand Maharaj purely out of sincere devotion and reverence.
The statement further urged media outlets to rigorously verify the facts before broadcasting sensational allegations, especially when serious claims involving prominent public figures are leveled without substantiating evidence.
Regular Family Visits to Keli Kunj
Over the past years, Virat Kohli has visited the Keli Kunj ashram multiple times alongside his wife Anushka Sharma and their two children, Vamika and Akaay, to seek spiritual guidance. The Vrindavan ashram draws wide public attention as numerous prominent personalities and celebrities regularly travel there to attend satsang sessions and meet the guru.
