A remarkable display of domestic run-scoring has elevated Mizoram batter Chinmay Sutar into the cricket history books during the current domestic campaign. Following up on an extraordinary innings of 400 runs, the top-order run-scorer maintained his exceptional rhythm to establish an unprecedented aggregate across consecutive outings.
Dominant Campaign in Domestic Cricket
Competing in the ongoing 2026-27 edition of the Ranji Trophy, the 23-year-old athlete has amassed a total of 834 runs in just six innings. His relentless form has challenged bowling lineups throughout the tournament, converting starts into monumental scores and anchoring his team's batting efforts with rare authority.
Surpassing the Previous Global Benchmark
By registering 834 runs across his six innings, the batter has secured the world record for the highest aggregate over that specific span in first-class cricket history. In doing so, he eclipsed the previous milestone held by Baheer Shah of Afghanistan, who had recorded 831 runs in six first-class innings. The new tally places the Indian domestic talent at the top of the all-time list for that run of appearances.
