Authorities in Bihar have cracked the mystery surrounding the recovery of Chhotelal Yadav's body near the Gandak River within the jurisdiction of the Bhithaha police station in Bagaha. Investigators have successfully apprehended a suspect linked to the homicide, identified as Ravindra Yadav, who is approximately 45 years of age and a resident of Muradih Tand. According to law enforcement officials, the suspect has admitted to his involvement in the crime during interrogation, and a wooden stick used in the assault has also been recovered based on his disclosure.
How the Investigation Unfolded
The case was officially registered on August 13 under section 103(1)/238 BNS at the Bhithaha police station, marked as case number 134/26. Following the grim discovery of the body floating in the oxbow waters of the Gandak River, the gravity of the situation prompted a high-priority investigation. Under the directives of the Superintendent of Police in Bagaha, a dedicated special team was formed and placed under the command of the Sub-Divisional Police Officer. This team carefully analyzed physical clues from the crime scene and gathered grassroots intelligence. Through systematic profiling and questioning of individuals whose movements appeared suspicious, the focus eventually narrowed down to Ravindra Yadav, leading to his detention.
Motive Behind the Fatal Attack
During sustained questioning by detectives, the detained individual broke down and confessed to the killing. Investigators revealed that the suspect reportedly caught Chhotelal Yadav in a compromising position with his own wife. Blinded by sudden rage, the husband picked up a wooden stick and launched a violent assault on the victim, resulting in his death. To cover up the incident, the perpetrator allegedly dragged the body and threw it into the stagnant waters near the riverbed.
Ongoing Legal Proceedings
Police are currently continuing their legal procedures regarding the incident. Authorities are thoroughly examining whether anyone else assisted the primary suspect or was privy to the crime. Further actions will be taken strictly in accordance with the evidence gathered and the ongoing inquiries.
