Authorities in Rajasthan are intensifying their crackdown on the circulation of counterfeit, banned, and unauthorized pharmaceuticals. In a major joint operation, the Drug Controller and the Jaipur South police launched a sweeping enforcement drive targeting illegal drug sales within the Muhana and Sanganer Sadar police station jurisdictions. The crackdown aimed to dismantle networks operating outside legal compliance and endangering public health through unregulated distribution.
During the targeted operations across these neighborhoods, inspection teams scrutinized five prominent medical stores and pharmaceutical distribution firms. The thorough audits exposed widespread regulatory violations, revealing inventories of drugs being sold without valid purchase bills alongside various restricted and counterfeit pharmaceutical products.
The drugs recovered during these surprise checks have been officially confiscated by the drug control administration. Officials estimate the market value of the seized stock to be approximately 5 lakh rupees. Following the seizures, enforcement authorities locked and sealed the offending retail outlets and associated storage warehouses. Furthermore, the operational licenses of all the involved medical stores have been suspended immediately.
This decisive action has triggered widespread panic among illicit traders and operators dealing in unregulated pharmaceutical supplies across the region. The drug control department is currently examining the seized inventory to verify product quality, legal validity, and supply chain documentation. Officials reiterated that strict legal proceedings will continue against anyone found trading in unbilled or restricted medicines in violation of statutory provisions.
The joint inspection initiative covered five specific establishments located in key commercial zones. The teams thoroughly examined stock registers, purchase invoices, operating licenses, and sales logs at every location to verify compliance with applicable laws.
The inspected premises included Abhi Medical and General Store located along Tonk Road, and Shubham Medical and General Store situated on Sanganer Vatika Road. Authorities also inspected Balaji Medical located in Hajyawala, Sri Shyam Medicos situated in Sanganer Govindpura, and Devesh Medical Agency located on Suman Vihar Vatika Road. Enforcement personnel verified all available medical stock and cross-referenced every piece of paperwork.
Throughout the inspections, officials seized all non-compliant, banned, and unbilled pharmaceuticals discovered on the premises. With the total seized stock valued at roughly 5 lakh rupees, the department is presently verifying all related trade documentation. Depending on investigative requirements, samples of the confiscated medications may also be dispatched for formal laboratory testing.
