A grim discovery has shaken the Rangpur area of Bangladesh, where the bodies of four members of a single family were recovered from a locked residence. The victims include a retired school teacher and his close relatives, prompting an intensive investigation by local law enforcement and forensic experts to uncover the truth behind the tragedy.
Authorities have identified the deceased individuals following initial inquiries. The victims are 65-year-old Ganapati Chakraborty Jewel, a retired school teacher; his 50-year-old wife Pritilata Chakraborty बाला; their 25-year-old daughter Kandi Chakraborty; and their 12-year-old son Priyam Chakraborty.
How the Discovery Unfolded
The incident came to light when local residents noticed a foul odor emanating from a house that appeared to have been locked from the outside for a considerable period. Alarmed by the situation, neighbors immediately alerted the authorities. Police forces arrived at the scene, broke the lock of the main entrance, and entered the premises to investigate.
Kotwali Police Station Officer-In-Charge (OC) Najmul Kader shared details regarding the positioning of the bodies inside the multi-story structure. The body of Ganapati Chakraborty was discovered on the building's roof. Meanwhile, the bodies of his wife Pritilata and daughter Kandi were found scattered near the stairs leading toward the third floor. The body of the youngest victim, 12-year-old Priyam, was located hidden beneath a bed inside the house.
Ongoing Forensic and Police Investigations
Initial police assessments suggest the possibility of a premeditated murder or a deeply sinister domestic incident. However, the precise motive and the exact time of death remain under scrutiny. The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) forensic team alongside local police units are actively scouring the crime scene to gather vital physical evidence.
Rangpur Metropolitan Police Commissioner (DIG) Mohammad Abdul Mabud stated that law enforcement is treating the case with utmost seriousness and is meticulously compiling all pertinent details surrounding the crime. All four bodies have been transferred to the morgue at Rangpur Medical College Hospital for post-mortem examinations. Authorities maintain that the exact cause of death will be definitively established only after the autopsies and thorough scientific analyses are completed.
