Security forces successfully foiled a major infiltration bid near the Line of Control in the Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir. Four terrorists were killed on the spot following a powerful landmine explosion in the Nangi Takri area of the Krishna Ghati sector, dealing a significant blow to cross-border terror designs.
How the Incident Unfolded in Krishna Ghati
According to official sources, a heavily armed group of terrorists was attempting to sneak across the international border into Indian territory under the cover of terrain. As they moved through the forward forested terrain in the Nangi Takri zone of the Krishna Ghati sector, they inadvertently triggered a landmine within a heavily mined defensive perimeter. The subsequent blast proved fatal, killing all four intruders instantly at the site.
Identification of the Slain Intruders
The identities of the four dead terrorists have been established through official records. They have been named as Mohammad Ishtiyaq, Mohammad Faizan, Mohammad Waqas, and Mohammad Asim. Among them, Mohammad Faizan has been identified as a top commander of the terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba, who was reportedly spearheading the infiltration group.
Origins Across the Border
Initial assessments indicate that all four individuals hailed from regions located in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir. Reports point to their residences being situated in the Mandla and Madarpur areas of the Hajira tehsil across the border. Security forces maintain rigorous anti-infiltration grid protocols along the entire forward expanse of the Line of Control to counter such hostile movements.
