In an effort to ensure the quality of food items and provide safe meals to citizens under the 'Sahi Khan-Pan, Swasth Rajasthan' campaign, the Food Safety Department carried out extensive inspections in Jaipur. Active teams across the capital inspected educational institutions, hostel messes, and various food establishments. During these operations, actions related to food safety standards were taken at a total of sixteen locations. As part of the inspection process, officials also collected twelve samples of different food items, which will be sent for quality testing to verify their standards.
Inspection of Educational Institutions and Mess Facilities
Under this ongoing campaign, food safety officers examined quality, hygiene, and safety standards across different areas of the city. Special attention was paid to the food arrangements and meals served to students in educational institutions and hostel messes. The teams inspected how food items were stored and checked whether prescribed regulations were being followed at these businesses. The twelve samples gathered during the checks will determine if the food products meet required specifications. If any irregularities are detected in the test results, further legal action will be initiated according to the rules.
Notices Issued to Thirteen Establishments
During the inspections, findings of non-compliance with food safety norms led to the issuance of official notices to thirteen establishments. The department instructed the concerned business operators to rectify their shortcomings and ensure proper arrangements in line with regulatory frameworks. The primary objective of this enforcement drive is to compel food vendors to adhere to established safety standards and protect the general public from adulterated or unsafe food products.
Shop Operating Despite a Suspended License
In a notable instance during the crackdown, the food safety team discovered an establishment operating openly despite having its license suspended. Acting swiftly on the spot, the department team forced the establishment to shut down its operations, treating the violation with strict severity. This decisive action has sent a strong message regarding regulatory compliance among local food businesses. The department emphasized that monitoring food quality, hygiene, and safe dietary provisions remains a top priority, and similar surprise checks are expected to continue in the coming days across the capital.
