In a major administrative crackdown against corruption and indiscipline within the police department, Kaimur Superintendent of Police Shikhar Chaudhary has taken punitive action against 20 to 25 police personnel over the span of roughly a month. The sweeping measures have caught multiple high-ranking officers, including two local station house officers, in the net.
Fake Attendance And Salary Fraud Exposed
Highlighting the gravity of the malpractices, a female home guard posted at the Mohania SDPO office was caught attempting to withdraw salary by fabricating the attendance of another female worker who had already been relieved from the district. Authorities registered a formal first information report and promptly arrested the accused home guard.
Detailed scrutiny revealed that the fraudsters resorted to applying whiteout fluid over recorded absences in the attendance register to mark them as present. Following the exposure of this crude tampering, the accused was sent to judicial jail custody.
Action Against Station House Officers
The departmental sweep also extends to supervisory lapses and corruption at police stations. Departmental proceedings have been initiated against the Kudra SHO over allegations of facilitating illegal sand extraction using seized vehicles. Similarly, the Chand SHO faces departmental action following accusations of colluding with middlemen and harassing ordinary citizens.
Crackdown On Uniform Reels And Checkpost Extortion
Addressing modern indiscipline on duty, the superintendent confirmed that two to three police personnel have faced suspension for shooting social media reels while wearing official police uniform while on duty. Additionally, over 10 SAP jawans and home guards have been arrested and sent to jail in connection with rampant illegal extortion at checkpoints.
Issuing a stern warning, the administration reiterated that the entry of brokers and middlemen inside police stations is strictly prohibited. Furthermore, officials cautioned that any personnel failing to treat the public with sensitivity and respect will face severe consequences without exception.
