In a major expansion of corporate onchain capital management, Galaxy Digital has deployed $100 million from its own balance sheet into Sky Protocol's yield-generating stable asset, sUSDS. The firm has incorporated the token directly into its corporate treasury while officially establishing it as eligible collateral across its institutional trading desk. Concurrently, Galaxy secured an undisclosed allocation of SKY tokens, deepening the operational financing ties between the two entities.
Dual-Role Collateral Framework for Institutional Borrowers
The core breakthrough of this arrangement introduces a dual utility for sUSDS across Galaxy's institutional trading services. Institutional counterparties borrowing funds can now pledge sUSDS as credit collateral without forfeiting their ongoing yield. Under standard financial arrangements, pledged assets routinely stop compounding returns for the borrower, but this model ensures clients continuously capture the underlying Sky Savings Rate on their entire token balance throughout the duration of their loan.
Max Bareiss, who leads lending at Galaxy, emphasized that the firm has consistently integrated Sky Protocol's infrastructure to anchor its institutional financing pipelines. Incorporating sUSDS into treasury reserves and clearing it for loan collateral, while bolstering receivables financing via Sky, provides counterparties with frictionless access to verifiable onchain yield that is backed by a savings protocol trusted directly with Galaxy's own corporate balance sheet.
$500 Million Warehouse Credit Facility via Prime Agents Grove and Spark
The expanded collaboration scales upon existing infrastructure deployed across Sky's ecosystem of Prime Agents. Grove, operating as a Prime Agent within the Sky network, delivers a $500 million warehouse credit facility to Galaxy. Through this structure, Grove deploys committed USDS capital inside a specialized lending facility designed to underwrite Galaxy's origination of institutional credit secured against digital assets.
Complementing this setup, Galaxy also taps liquidity through Spark, another Prime Agent within the Sky framework, to support its Galaxy One Fund of Receivables, known as GOFR. By integrating Spark's infrastructure, Galaxy broadens the pool of liquidity accessible to institutional borrowers while strategically diversifying its external capital origins. This move effectively transitions Sky's savings rails from corporate liquidity buffers directly into capital market prime brokerage workflows.
Greg Feibus, the global head of capital markets at the Sky Frontier Foundation, highlighted that Sky's infrastructure was engineered specifically to standardize savings rates across market participants, extending equal access from independent personal savers all the way to Nasdaq-listed corporate balance sheets.
Protocol Growth Metrics and SKY Market Reaction
This major treasury allocation mirrors the accelerating adoption of Sky's savings token network. Official operational data reveals that circulating sUSDS supply climbed to $5.52 billion by the conclusion of the second quarter of 2026. This metric marks a 149% surge compared to the corresponding period twelve months prior.
Sky's financial fundamentals remained robust across the period, generating $107.35 million in gross revenue and yielding a net operating surplus of $33.29 million for the quarter. Following the treasury announcement, the SKY token surged in market trading, reaching a peak of $0.0757 before retracing toward $0.0720. Despite the minor pullback, the token held a 5% daily advance, extending its cumulative 7-day rally to 27%.
Cross-Market Movements Across Leading Digital Assets
Broader digital asset benchmarks showed resilient consolidation during Wednesday's trading. Bitcoin hovered near $86,000 as broad market positions stabilized, with Ethereum holding steady above $2,700. In decentralized derivatives, Hyperliquid traded slightly below $97 on Wednesday, pausing after logging a historic peak of $98.03 on a 3% advance the previous day, while retaining its status as the revenue-leading DeFi protocol outside of stablecoins.
