A horrific incident of murder has sent shockwaves through the Shanti Nagar locality situated within the Keshav Puram police jurisdiction of North West Delhi. The police control room received an urgent PCR call informing officers about the homicide of a young woman inside Building No. 1860/139. A police team was immediately dispatched to the specified address to investigate the emergency call. Upon inspecting a room located on the third floor of the structure, officers discovered the blood-covered body of a 20-year-old woman lying motionless with a distinct and severe gunshot injury to her head.
Victim Background and Connection to Suspect Saurabh
Preliminary investigations conducted at the scene established the identity of the deceased as 20-year-old Jyoti, daughter of Kailash and a resident of Azadpur in Delhi. Jyoti was employed as a daytime caretaker at the building. The third floor where the violent crime took place housed approximately 8 to 10 dogs, and Jyoti's primary duty was to cook meals and attend to the daily care of these animals. During initial inquiries, police uncovered that a young man named Saurabh, who worked as the night-shift caretaker in the exact same building, was allegedly involved in a personal relationship with the victim.
Private Dispute Escalation, Crime Scene Analysis, and Police Hunt
Law enforcement authorities suspect that an intense argument broke out between Jyoti and Saurabh over a personal issue prior to the shooting. As the dispute escalated, Saurabh allegedly drew a firearm, shot Jyoti directly in the head, and immediately fled the premises. To meticulously analyze the crime scene and gather vital forensic evidence, the police summoned both a Crime Team and a specialized Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) unit. The victim's body was sent to a hospital facility for a comprehensive post-mortem examination, while law enforcement personnel have launched an extensive search operation to track down and apprehend Saurabh.
Separate Stabbing Incident Following Harassment Protest in Bharat Nagar Park
On the very same day, another violent crime occurred in the neighboring Bharat Nagar locality of Delhi. A young man and a young woman were sitting together inside a local public park when a group of miscreants approached them. When the duo firmly protested against molestation attempts by the miscreants, the attackers pulled out knives and launched a brutal assault upon them. The young man suffered fatal knife wounds and died at the spot, while the young woman sustained critical injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital for emergency medical treatment.
