Police in the Jakhau area of Kutch district have successfully unraveled the mystery surrounding an unidentified dead body discovered recently. Initially, law enforcement registered the case as an accidental death and began routine inquiries, but suspicious marks on the body and severe head injuries prompted a complete shift in the direction of the probe. Authorities formed three separate teams utilizing CCTV surveillance, technical tracking, and other investigative methods, which ultimately led to the breakthrough in the murder case.
Body Found Tied with Rope
The grim discovery occurred on September 5, when the body of an unidentified individual was recovered from the Jakhau area. A rope was tied around the waist of the deceased, raising immediate suspicions for local police. The following day, on September 6, the body was sent to Jamnagar for a post-mortem examination. The autopsy and preliminary analysis confirmed severe head trauma, significantly strengthening the suspicion of homicide. Subsequent investigations by the Jakhau police identified the deceased as Osman Umar, a resident of Devbhoomi Dwarka who made his living in the fishing business.
Heated Dispute at a Tea Stall
Police investigation revealed that Osman Umar and Haji Juma Sindhi were childhood friends and shared the same profession of fishing. The two men got into an argument at a tea stall over offensive remarks made regarding a sister. What started as a verbal spat quickly escalated into a violent confrontation. According to police, Haji Juma Sindhi attacked Osman Umar with a stone during the altercation. The severe head injuries sustained in the attack resulted in Osman Umar's death. Following the unearthing of the murder plot, the Jakhau police took Haji Juma Sindhi into custody and initiated legal proceedings against him. Earlier, in Anjar, Kutch, a man had murdered his female friend, and police arrested the accused in that case as well.
Fake Liquor Unit Busted in Morbi
In a separate operation, five individuals have been arrested in Morbi for allegedly operating a unit that manufactured fake foreign liquor. Officials stated that the raid was executed by the Morbi Local Crime Branch based on a tip-off. Authorities revealed that the LCB received information that two men, Mahesh Patel and Ajay Singh Jadeja, were running an illicit counterfeit liquor manufacturing setup inside a house under their possession in the Krishnanagar area of Motadahisar in Maliya-Miyana taluka. The total value of the seized liquor has been estimated at 20.75 lakh rupees.
