On August 15, the Crime Branch of the Delhi Police apprehended a Pakistani national who was residing illegally in the Old Delhi area. Investigation revealed that the individual had crossed into Indian territory via Nepal and was subsequently working at a local eatery in the capital.
Mother's Connections and Entry Route
The individual managed to reach Delhi after taking a route through Nepal. Upon examining his background, officials established that his mother originally belonged to Delhi. She had married a Pakistani citizen and eventually acquired Pakistani citizenship herself. Taking advantage of these family ties and cross-border movement via Nepal, the man entered India without valid authorization and took up employment in a restaurant to blend into the city.
Security Interrogation and Deportation Proceedings
Following his apprehension, the Crime Branch along with central intelligence agencies subjected the man to extensive joint interrogation. Detailed questioning and background verification confirmed that there was no terror linkage or espionage angle involved in his presence. As a result, the Delhi Police Crime Branch transferred custody of the individual to the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO). Official procedures have now been initiated to deport him back to Pakistan.
