Delhi Police has arrested two sisters within 15 hours of a brazen robbery targeting a delivery agent in the national capital. The accused women executed a well-planned attack by tossing chilli powder into the victim's eyes and ramming him with a scooter to knock him onto the asphalt before fleeing with parcels. Swift technical surveillance and local intelligence allowed law enforcement to track down the suspects and recover the stolen property alongside the vehicle used during the heist.
Execution of the chilli powder ambush
The incident unfolded on September 25 at around 7:20 PM near the Hanuman temple in Sector 5, Rohini. While the delivery worker was managing his shipments, one of the female suspects approached him under the guise of a customer and attempted to yank a parcel straight out of his delivery bag. When the worker resisted the theft, she instantly hurled chilli powder directly into his eyes. Simultaneously, her sister arrived on a scooter and slammed into the victim from behind, sending him crashing to the ground and injuring his leg, whereupon both women grabbed multiple parcels from the bag and sped away.
Rapid police response and arrests
Following a formal complaint, an FIR was promptly registered at the Budh Vihar police station to initiate a manhunt. Utilizing advanced technical tracking and confidential informants, investigators quickly identified the culprits and apprehended both Nancy and Gracy in under 15 hours. During subsequent interrogations, the pair admitted to their involvement in the crime, leading to the recovery of three stolen parcels, a mobile phone, and the getaway scooter.
Background of the accused sisters
The arrested individuals are biological sisters residing in Karol Bagh. Investigators revealed that 26-year-old Nancy Singh has completed a fashion designing course but remains unemployed at present, while 20-year-old Gracy Singh dropped out of school after finishing the 12th grade. Authorities are continuing their inquiries into the matter to determine if the duo was involved in any prior criminal activities.
