A major educational initiative has arrived for job seekers in Amethi, as local Government Industrial Training Institutes expand their vocational training offerings. To equip rural and suburban youth with market-ready technical skills, authorities are introducing 21 brand-new skill trades across three government ITIs in the district. Available at a nominal fee of just ₹40, these government-certified courses aim to enhance employability, eliminate out-of-station training expenses, and encourage local entrepreneurship.
Application Timeline and August Admission Process
Amethi district currently houses four operational Industrial Training Institutes, where various traditional technical courses have been running for years. Under the new academic roadmap, 21 specialized trade tracks are being added across three of these state-run institutes. The online registration process for candidate enrolment has already commenced, with formal admissions scheduled to begin in August.
By upgrading the course structure, the initiative directly expands placement and apprenticeship avenues for candidates completing their diplomas. Highlighting the administration's approval, Ajay Singh, Principal of Government ITI Jagdishpur, stated that sanction from the state government enabled all three institutes to roll out these modern career-oriented programs for the upcoming academic session.
Institute-Wise Breakdown of Newly Launched Skill Trades
The distribution of new programs covers diverse industrial and service sectors across the three participating facilities. At the Jagdishpur Government ITI, students can now enroll in Mechanic Motor Vehicle, Mechanic Electronics, Machinist, Computer Operator and Programming Assistant (COPA), Welder, Fashion Design and Technology, and Cosmetology.
Similarly, the ITI located in Jais is launching trades in Mechanic Air Conditioner and Refrigeration, Mechanic Diesel, Fitter, COPA, Welder, Fashion Design and Technology, and Cosmetology. Meanwhile, the main Amethi ITI center has introduced Machinist Operator Advance Machine Tools, Mechanic Diesel, Welder, Fashion Design and Technology, and Cosmetology. These hands-on courses are tailored to prepare youth both for corporate recruitment and for establishing independent enterprise ventures.

Students across Amethi have expressed immense satisfaction over the decentralization of vocational learning. Previously, candidates aspiring to gain expertise in these specialized trades were compelled to relocate or commute long distances to major educational hubs such as Lucknow, Kanpur, Varanasi, Sultanpur, and Ayodhya. This migration resulted in substantial travel expenditures, daily commuting stress, and lost hours.
