For students in Class 1 and beyond, the guidelines advise that the total weight of the school bag should not exceed 10 percent of the child's actual body weight.
Based on this proportional formula, the suggested school bag weight limit for students in Class 1 and Class 2 ranges between 1.6 kilograms and 2.2 kilograms, depending on the average physical weight of children in that age group. This weight limit increases progressively as students advance to higher classes.
