Transitioning from behind the camera to the screen, director Elan is gearing up for his acting debut in the upcoming movie Pyaar Prema Kalyanam. The film is scheduled to premiere on Netflix on August 21, marking not just a professional milestone for him, but also the realization of a nearly forty-year-old personal dream cherished by his father.
Sharing his thoughts and the motion poster on the social media platform X, Elan reflected on his family's cinematic journey. He recalled that back in the 1980s, his father moved from his native village to Chennai with the ambition of becoming a leading film actor, an aspiration that ultimately remained unfulfilled. Now, he feels deeply moved to see that very ambition coming to life through his own career.
Expressing his gratitude, Elan acknowledged the contributions of Rice Entertainment, Pennthal Sagar, Netflix, and music composer Yuvan Shankar Raja. He urged audiences and fans to extend their love and backing to the entire creative team behind the project.
The feature is structured as a romantic family entertainer, blending modern relationship dynamics, domestic bonds, and traditional values with lighthearted comedy and emotional depth.
Plot and Ensemble Cast
Alongside Elan, Sanvitha Meghana takes on the female lead, portraying a popular social media influencer named Pavi. The narrative takes an intriguing turn when she declines to leave her parental home after marriage, leading to the central question of whether a husband can choose to live at his wife's family residence.
The supporting cast features seasoned performers including Radikaa Sarathkumar, Yogi Babu, M.S. Bhaskar, and Senthil. The production was steered by Sreenidhi Sagar, while Yuvan Shankar Raja composed the musical score. Observers are now keen to witness how the audience receives this transition of a filmmaker stepping into a lead acting role.
