The ongoing feud between Daler Mehndi and Uttarakhand minister Subodh Uniyal continues to escalate, drawing widespread reactions and diverse opinions across social media platforms. The controversy has now taken a dramatic turn as singer Mika Singh stepped forward to fiercely defend his brother Daler Mehndi. Taking to X, Mika stated that the minister must either prove that Daler Mehndi had consumed alcohol or issue a public apology, adding that he would personally perform for free in Uttarakhand if an apology is made.
The manner in which minister Subodh Uniyal behaved during Daler Mehndi's performance at the Kunjapuri fair had previously drawn sharp criticism from several figures in the film industry. Mika has been consistently vocal about the incident, having earlier questioned claims on X regarding whether the singer was actually paid 35 lakh rupees to perform on stage. Now, by demanding an apology, he has upped the ante with his offer to deliver a complimentary musical show in the state.
Mika Singh Issues a Direct Challenge
Through his recent social media post, Mika Singh has directly challenged minister Subodh Uniyal. He stated that he is fully prepared to travel to Uttarakhand and host a concert without charging any fees, provided the minister apologizes to Daler Mehndi beforehand. This public stance underscores his firm resolve to stand by his family member and demand accountability for the situation.
The Performance at Kunjapuri Fair and Allegations
At the center of the dispute is Daler Mehndi's stage appearance at the Kunjapuri fair, where he performed continuously for nearly one hour and thirty minutes. Attendees were seen dancing and thoroughly enjoying his popular tracks, with video footage capturing the lively atmosphere and enthusiastic crowd. Despite this positive reception, allegations were raised that the singer had performed under the influence of alcohol. Expressing deep dismay over these claims, Mika demanded an impartial investigation and accountability, questioning at the end of his post whether rules and accountability should not apply equally to everyone.
Call to Review Event Footage
Prior to this latest challenge, Mika had urged the minister to review the video footage of the event to judge for himself. He offered to send the recording directly to the minister so he could witness firsthand what actually transpired on stage. Mika noted that if the footage shows any wrongdoing or intoxication, the authorities should be held accountable for the appropriate course of action.
