Popular playback singer Mika Singh recently appeared as a guest on the renowned quiz show Kaun Banega Crorepati, where he shared an amusing and lesser-known anecdote involving megastar Amitabh Bachchan's famous Diwali celebration. Mika revealed that during his earlier days, he used to dream of attending the iconic star-studded Diwali bash hosted at the Bachchan residence. Driven by this strong desire, he once managed to enter the high-profile party without an official invitation, though he ultimately had to retrace his steps and leave.
During the conversation on the show, Mika recalled how he frequently drove past Amitabh Bachchan's house during the festival of lights. At the time, the legendary actor's Diwali gatherings were legendary within the film industry, drawing numerous prominent superstars and celebrities from all over. Mika admitted that he always harbored a deep wish to receive an invitation and experience the grand festivities from the inside.
Addressing show host Amitabh Bachchan directly, Mika narrated the audacious attempt he made to bypass security. He explained that while he did not own a massive house back then, he did own a very large car. According to Mika, whenever people saw that vehicle, they automatically assumed a major celebrity was seated inside. On the night of the Diwali party, when heavy security and media personnel were stationed outside the gates, Mika decided to put his plan into motion.
Driving right up to the main entrance, Mika honked the horn. Since the vehicle had tinted windows and he was wearing sunglasses, the security guards assumed a high-ranking VIP was arriving for the celebration. Believing an important guest had pulled up, the guards promptly opened the gates, allowing Mika to drive straight into the premises.
However, once he was inside, Mika quickly realized the awkwardness of being at a high-profile gathering without an invitation. Overcome by the realization that he had sneaked in uninvited, he immediately reversed his car and drove back out. Mika added that sometime later, he received a gracious message from Amitabh Bachchan telling him that he was always welcome to visit him directly next time, praising the megastar's humility.
Following Mika's narration, Amitabh Bachchan elaborated on the long-standing tradition of hospitality maintained at his household during major festivals. The veteran actor credited his wife, the veteran actress and politician Jaya Bachchan, for shaping the welcoming atmosphere at their home. Amitabh explained that whenever festival invitations are sent out for Diwali, Holi, or any other occasion, Jaya firmly maintains that their doors should always remain open to anyone who wishes to visit.
