Two-Phase Roadmap: Partnerships With IICT and NFDC
The Netflix India Storytelling Initiative will be rolled out in two distinct operational phases. In the first phase, Netflix will partner with 'The Indian Institute of Creative Technologies' (IICT) to design industry aligned curricula in specialized disciplines such as 'Visual Effects Mastery' and 'Media Technology Workflow'. This academic integration aims to ensure that students graduate with cutting edge expertise tailored to evolving production demands. Additionally, Netflix will fund dedicated scholarships at IICT covering specialized domains, including Interactive Comics and Sequential Art, Virtual Art Department Content Creation, Art of Character Animation, along with Esports and Gaming Management.
The second phase focuses on inclusivity and specialized job creation through a partnership with the 'National Film Development Corporation' (NFDC). Aligning with the Prime Minister's accessibility agenda, this phase will build a trained workforce for specialized roles such as audio description writers and voice artists. These professionals will work toward making movies and television series fully accessible to visually and hearing impaired audiences, fostering both social inclusion and fresh career pathways in the media industry.
