Veteran Bollywood actor Rahul Roy has reflected on the difficult phase of his life following a brain stroke he suffered in the year 2020. Looking back at his recovery journey, the actor shared that during the early days of his illness, his future appeared highly uncertain, and he was unsure whether he would ever be able to walk or speak again. However, his health has improved significantly since then, and he is now gradually making his return to the acting world.
Returning to Screen in Super Badshah
Rahul Roy is all set to appear in the upcoming Kuku TV web series titled Super Badshah. In this show, he stars alongside television actor Karanvir Bohra, with both playing the roles of underworld dons. During an interview discussing his return to acting after the stroke, the actor admitted that while he was thrilled when Karanvir Bohra approached him with the role, he initially had some hesitation due to the speech difficulties he faced following the medical emergency.
The Brain Stroke During Kargil Shoot in 2020
The health crisis struck in 2020 when Rahul Roy was shooting for the film LAC- Live the Battle in Kargil. As his condition deteriorated unexpectedly, he was rushed to the hospital immediately, where doctors performed angiographies of his brain and heart. While the incident completely disrupted his life at the time, the actor notes that his health has stabilized greatly, and he feels much better now as he resumes his professional commitments.
Transitioning From Non-Vegetarian to a Strict Vegan Lifestyle
To cope with his post-stroke health requirements, Rahul Roy has completely transformed his daily routine and diet. He revealed that he used to smoke heavily and consume non-vegetarian food in the past, but has now adopted a strict vegan lifestyle. To maintain his well-being, he has given up onions, garlic, and even milk, practically shifting to a Jain diet. Additionally, he has to take a total of eight medicines every day after breakfast to keep his health on track.

Rahul Roy shot to overnight fame with the massive success of the 1990 blockbuster movie Aashiqui. Directed by Mahesh Bhatt, the romantic musical captured the hearts of audiences through the chemistry between Rahul and Anu Aggarwal. More recently, the actor was seen in director Kanu Behl's psychological drama film Agra, which also featured performances by Mohit Agarwal and Priyanka Bose.
