Sai Pallavi is generating massive buzz for her upcoming action drama 'Om: Chapter 1 - Udhiram: The Blood Wood' alongside her much-anticipated project 'Ramayana'. In this new film, she will be seen in a striking and completely fresh avatar. For the very first time in her career, she is essaying the role of a stern IPS officer who embarks on a high-stakes mission to dismantle a massive illegal red sandalwood smuggling network. The film features powerhouse performers Dhanush and Mammootty alongside her in pivotal roles, making it one of the most awaited cinematic collaborations of the year.
Sharing Experiences at the Grand Audio Launch
During a grand audio launch event held recently at Sairam Engineering College, Sai Pallavi opened up about her character and shared her wonderful experience working with director Rajkumar Periasamy. Showering high praise on the filmmaker, she called him a dream director for every actress. She recalled that she had previously expressed her desire to work with him on a future project, a wish the director took seriously by casting her in this film. She noted that the director had even more faith in her ability to pull off the fierce police officer role than she had in herself. She also extended her gratitude to the stunt coordination team for pulling off the intense action sequences seamlessly.
Complex Female Characters and Strong Storytelling
The actress highlighted that Rajkumar Periasamy writes female characters with remarkable depth and multiple layers, praising the way he brings women to the forefront of his stories. This unique ability is precisely why she considers him a dream director for any female lead. In the movie, Sai Pallavi portrays a strict and formidable character named Nithya Reddy, who serves as both an IPS and CBI officer. Her uncompromising attitude and dedication form the core of the narrative as she takes charge of the situation.
The Battle Against Red Sandalwood Smuggling
The core plot revolves around the murky world of illegal red sandalwood smuggling rings. As Nithya Reddy, the protagonist steps into the field under Operation Om to investigate the vast criminal syndicate, personal stakes come to light. A profound personal loss from her private life acts as the driving force behind her relentless pursuit of justice, giving her the emotional strength needed to push forward through the dangerous mission. This personal tragedy blends seamlessly with the gritty law enforcement investigation.
From Amaran Memories to Working with Mammootty
In a lighthearted moment during the event, Sai Pallavi reflected on her previous movie 'Amaran', sharing a humorous anecdote about how her character in that project was fondly referred to as Mammootty throughout the production. She humorously remarked that she must have manifested the coincidence of actually working alongside the legendary Mammootty soon after. Fans and media outlets quickly picked up on her cheerful remarks. 'Om: Chapter 1 - Udhiram: The Blood Wood' is scheduled to hit the silver screen on November 20.
